A little about the WUI logo

The upside-down teardrop shape is a commonly used map marker. Green denotes the start-point on a route while a red marker would denote the end-point. We’ve added the universal “start” white triangle, common to media players, for a subtle hint to start walking (and because we hope to eventually add pod-casts to our routes). The four markers mimic the four main points on a compass; they point inward as we want to make our walks a focal point of our neighborhoods.

The four red squares denote stepping-stones and spell out the word INDY, as in Walk Urban Indy. Wherever possible, our routes will include a walk through or around an area park as we want to encourage the use of our green spaces.
